Many Shades of Gay
Many Shades of Gay is a multimedia campaign to communicate that no matter who you are or how you see yourself, getting an HIV test every six months is an important part of taking care of yourself, your partners and your community. It encourages gay and bisexual men to make frequent HIV testing the social norm in the community. The interactive and educational website invites users to create a personalized avatar. On the site, visitors are also able to opt in to receive reminders via e-mail or text from the avatar when it is time for another HIV test or STI screening. The campaign launched in June to coincide with gay pride events and National HIV Testing Day. The first phase included billboards, buses, metro stations, the internet, and social media. All creative is available rights-free to any interested organization to adopt for your HIV testing promotion efforts.
