TB Nurse Case Management

Description
|
This course is intended for nurses and public health staff who are actively engaged in the case management, identification, and treatment of patients with tuberculosis infection or disease. The course will provide coverage of the evaluation, treatment, and case management of medically and psychosocially difficult-to-treat patients. Upon course completion, participants will be able to competently practice TB case management, including diagnosing and managing latent TB infection and TB disease; monitoring response to treatment; performing drug toxicity assessments; identifying and managing foreign-born and persons at risk for TB; diagnosing and managing TB in pediatric, HIV-positive, and correctional patients; performing case review and quality assurance; balancing responsibilities for public health with patient's needs; assessing adequate infection control measures; and preventing non-compliance through the use of DOT and enablers.
