Grant Amount: Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding: $300,000; Approximate Total Project Period Funding: $300,000.
The purpose of this program is to provide partial support for specific non-Federal conferences focusing on HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and/or Tuberculosis in the following areas: (1) Health promotion and disease prevention information and education; (2) Applied research; (3) Incidence and prevalence trends; (3) Surveillance; (4) Prevention and intervention strategies; (5) Screening and treatment; (6) Linkages to care; (7) Program integration; (8) Health equity; (9) Sexual health; and (10) Prevention through health care.
The goal of this program is to increase knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Tuberculosis among public health professionals and service providers and representatives of the population groups at greatest risk for these diseases.
Expected Project Period Outcomes: By the end of the project period increase the knowledge and competencies of conference/workshop participants (public health professionals and service providers and representatives of the populations groups at greatest risk) about HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Tuberculosis in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention information and education, applied research, incidence and prevalence trends, surveillance, prevention and intervention strategies, screening and treatment, linkages to care, program integration and health equity, sexual health and prevention through health care.
By the end of the project period increase workshop participants’ utilization of the latest information obtained from the conference(s) and/or workshop(s) to design and implement HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Tuberculosis program services, interventions and strategies for targeted populations.
By the end of the project period increase the number of workshop participants who share/disseminate the information obtained at the conference(s)/workshop(s), via a variety of media, with colleagues, partners, and representatives of the target populations.

Cost sharing or matching funds are required for this program. Matching funds must be no less than 51% of the total conference cost. Matching funds may come from other sources, to include organizations, institutions, conference income, and/or registration fees for health promotion and disease prevention information and education program activities. The match may be all cash, in-kind, or a combination thereof.
